Strawberry Napa Fizz

Here’s another cocktail recipe from Vivian making use of her leftover Shaker & Spoon syrups. You can also find more drinks photography from Vivian on Instagram at @thetipsymuse.

Strawberry Napa Fizz

Loch & Union Distilling is unusual because it is from Napa, California, hardly THE place famous for gin. I was recently invited to their gin tasting, and also got to talk to their Distiller Gian Nelson.

They make two gins. One is American Dry Gin.  In addition to the class London dry gin notes, what stood out for me was its subtle and warm spice palate that followed.  This is a gin packed with so many notes, if that is your style. They also have a Barley Gin that I absolutely love; it’s creamy, malty, and it took a while for the barley notes to hit the palate which gives it a nice finish.

Ingredients
1 1/2 oz Loch & Union American Dry Gin
3/4 oz Cocchi Rosa
3/4 oz Shaker & Spoon strawberry cordial
3/4 oz lemon juice
bubbly to top

Garnish
strawberry half

Glassware
stemmed glass

Directions
1. Add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker.
2. Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake vigorously until it is ice cold and shows frost on the outside (15–30 seconds).
3. Double strain the shaker’s contents into a chilled stemmed glass.
4. Top with some bubbly and garnish!
