Every October, Mezcalloween rises again – and this year marks its fifth haunting. Back and bolder than ever, the Mezcalloween V Box delivers mezcal cocktails that are playful, seasonal, and brimming with mischief. Think tart peach with a sparkling lift, juicy plum wrapped in warming spice, and a blood-red hibiscus potion rimmed in zesty salt.
Take a peek inside:
Smoke & Pucker crafted by Greg Mayer

Big smoke, bright fruit, and just the right amount of tang – that’s what makes Smoke & Pucker a drink worth savoring. Mezcal’s signature smokiness is lifted by juicy Palisade peaches from Colorado, transformed into a luminous peach syrup, and finished with a subtle hit of lemon in Sanpellegrino’s Limonata. For a garnish, we’ve topped it off with a pucker-worthy hit of sour candy.
“It’s all about big smoke up front with a sour pucker at the end,” says Greg. “The peaches are so bright and lovely – it’s like adult candy.” Perfect for sipping while watching a scary movie on Halloween night (and maybe trying not to be the first one to close your eyes).
Sally’s Song crafted by Lindsay Matteson

Plum and Ras el Hanout spice transform mezcal into something warm, mysterious, and perfectly autumnal. Finished with mole and plum bitters, this cocktail is a smoky, spiced ode to fall in a glass.
Sweet, smoky, and spiced just right, Sally’s Song is a comforting cocktail with a spooky edge – much like its namesake from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Mezcal and juicy plum create a rich, fruit-forward base, while a touch of Ras el Hanout (a warming North African spice blend) brings an unexpected twist.
“To me, Ras el Hanout is both comforting and surprising – perfect for fall,” Lindsay shares. “With the plum, it enhances the mezcal and adds a unique spin you don’t usually see.” It’s versatile enough to pair with dinner, dessert, or simply enjoyed as a nightcap while autumn leaves crunch outside.
Hibiscus Hex created by Sother Teague

Darkly alluring and utterly delicious, Hibiscus Hex is a mezcal cocktail that’s as haunting to look at as it is to sip. Hibiscus gives it a striking crimson hue, while tropical notes mingle with autumn flavors, creating a drink that’s both cozy and otherworldly.
“I wanted a cocktail that evoked the season’s imagery – blood red color, fall flavors, and mezcal,” says Sother. The result? A tart, smoky, spiced sipper that delights with every sip and lingers like a friendly ghost.
Our Mezcal Recommendation?

For this Mezcalloween, we recommend using Banhez Ensamble – a blend of 90% espadín and 10% barrel agave that’s mild, floral, and fruity, with tasty notes of pineapple and banana.

Mezcal’s earthy, complex character pairs perfectly with seasonal fruits, spices, and bold garnishes, making it the star of cocktails that are as intriguing as they are delicious.
