Chartreuse Swizzle

Here’s another cocktail recipe from Vivian making use of her leftover Shaker & Spoon syrups. You can also find more drinks photography from Vivian on Instagram at @thetipsymuse.

Chartreuse Swizzle

I finally have my own swizzle stick and have made my first swizzle with it! The swizzle is a tiki-style drink stirred with a swizzle stick (which is made from the twigs of a species of trees native to the Caribbean) to circulate ice and ingredients. The drink is usually served in a tall collins glass with crushed ice. Perhaps due to its island origin, rum is often used in swizzled drinks.

How to swizzle: The key is to only pour half of the crushed ice and all of the ingredients into your collins glass, then hold the swizzle shaft between your palms and rotate back and forth. Finish by adding the rest of the crushed ice and swizzling again. If you try to add all of the ice in one try, it’s hard to swizzle!

Ingredients
2 oz Green Chartreuse
1.5 oz lime juice
0.5 oz Shaker & Spoon lapsang souchong ginger honey syrup
top with ginger ale
dash with Angostura bitters
